What is a collective fleet agreement (CFA)?
A bilateral agreement between your company and the union covering your Ukrainian seafarers: wage framework, welfare terms and a clear representation channel, structured around MLC 2006. One agreement covers the vessels you nominate.
Are you affiliated with the ITF?
No — USTU is an independent, registered Ukrainian trade union. Our agreements are genuine bilateral CBAs built on recognised standards, including MLC 2006, and we are transparent about this distinction.
How long does it take to sign an agreement?
Typically a few weeks from first call to signature: we share the template, agree the annexes for your fleet, and finalise by exchange of signed copies. No lengthy bureaucracy on our side.
What does MLC 2006 require from us on crew representation?
MLC 2006 expects seafarers to have access to complaint procedures and representation. A union agreement gives your crews a recognised, organised channel — which in practice reduces disputes and PSC friction.
