Pivdennyi Port to Update Collective Agreement Ahead of Reorganization

#USTU#Ukraine

What is happening

SE MTP Pivdennyi and the trade union committee have started updating the company’s collective agreement. The process is part of preparations for the port’s planned transformation and future work in a new organizational and legal form. The update is linked both to internal procedures at the enterprise and to changes in legislation governing state-owned companies and state property in Ukrainian seaports.

Why it matters for workers

A collective agreement defines the key terms between management and employees, including pay, social guarantees, labor protection, compensation, working arrangements and other issues that directly affect port staff. That is why revising the document before reorganization is not just a formality. For the trade union, the main priority is to preserve workers’ guarantees during the change in the company’s legal status.

Reorganization context

Ukraine has previously announced plans to transform several state-owned ports into companies while keeping state control over the assets. For Pivdennyi, preparations for this transition include streamlining internal processes, updating property documentation and improving management procedures. The renewed collective agreement is expected to help the enterprise pass through this stage while maintaining stability for both the workforce and port operations.
